We have over 500,000 shrubs on the nursery at any one time. Coupled with that an extensive range across plant types as well as pot sizes, it means that we are able to fulfill orders in the shortest possible time.

Set-up

Container production is carried out over five separate sites totalling 23 acres, all of which are in close proximity to each other.

Spacing is critical to ensuring evenly branched plants with an over-riding priority on adequate space for each plant rather than maximising the number per area.

Production

Given the large scale of our operation, we are able to make full use of potting machines as displayed here. We carry out three main potting events in one year, namely January, June and October.

Potting takes place at other times, mainly concerned with sizes 25 litres and above.

Packing

Although allocated on the nursery, plants are not packed until one or two days before a delivery is due to take place.

We employ the latest packaging methods which vary depending on the time of year. Cages are used in the summer and throughout the year for larger specimen material to prevent any possible chance of damage from occurring.
