MULTISTEM
Multistem trees consist of several distinct trunks rising from the base. Because of this, they have more branches and foliage than a traditional single stemmed tree, and so are often used where instant impact is required. Over time, these lower branches can be removed to enable people to walk under them. The planting of a single multistem tree can also be used to evoke the 'woodland feel' where space is limited in small gardens or courtyards.

They are specified by height in metres rather than girth, along with the minimum number of stems required.

Tree varieties grown in this form include Alnus glutinosa, Amelanchier lamarckii, Betula pendula, Betula jacquemontii, Corylus avellana, Prunus serrula and Sorbus aucuparia.

Other varieties can also be grown to order so please do not hesitate to discuss these with our sales representatives.
