John Andrew Jones is born in Rhosygadfa, Shropshire on
24th November 1870, the son of Thomas and Rebecca.
He moves to Southport and marries Mary Rimmer.

J. A. Jones is established in Southport as a gardener and nurseryman. He establishes a nursery on Poole Covert
(now on Preston New Road). He has five children, two boys
John Andrew Jnr. and Thomas Charles, and three girls.
John Andrew Jnr. is born at Blundell's Lane, Southport.

1914-1918  World War One

He purchases part of a field on Bankfield Lane from

the Hesketh estate, building his final home, and

moves his greenhouses from Poole Covert.
